Micro pave setting is simply pave setting, but on a much smaller scale.

Pave setting is a technique used by jewelry artists to create brilliance. The surface of the gold or platinum is drilled by the setter so that when the diamonds are set they will sit very close to each other, almost touching.

This look literally covers the surface with diamonds. The diamonds are then set in place with small beads of gold or platinum.

The most highly skilled pave setters hide the gold under the diamonds and allow only the small beads to show. The micro pave setting uses smaller diamonds, and requires more skill to have a uniform surface to create the brilliant look of pave.
